Darlington Reserves 4 Coxhoe Athletic 1

The reserves continued their fantastic run by beating Coxhoe Athletic 4-1 at Eastbourne today – their fourth win in the last five matches.

Quakers have now climbed up to fifth from bottom, above South Shields Reserves, with Nathan Stephenson and Kirk Matthews both scoring two apiece.

Joint manager Steve Johnson said; “That was the best win so far this season. It was a really good solid performance by the lads. They listened to what they were told, and did everything spot on.

“There’s been quite a transformation over the last few weeks, and now the players are going into every game expecting to win.”

Nathan Stephenson has now scored six goals in his last three matches, and Stevie said; “We had a few words with him a couple of weeks ago, and they’ve really worked. He’s playing very well at the moment.”
