Darlington youth U12's had a tough test away from home against Swalwell Juniors. The reverse fixture saw Darlington Youth lose 7-0.

Despite this, Darlington started well with their opposition looking shell shocked at the pace DYFC started, passing quickly and attacking with pace. The pressing paid off after 20 mins when Jack Harland calmly finished off a good move down the right hand side. Swalwell tried to claw one back but struggled to get though a well organised Darlington team.

The second half was also a tight encounter, both teams had opportunities to score. Midway through saw a moment of genius when Dylan Nicholson spotted the keeper off his line and nonchalantly chipped him from 25 yards. Swalwell threw everything at DYFC & managed to claw back a scrappy goal with five minutes left on the clock. However a real team effort coupled with a man of the match display from Josh Bell helped Darlington to a well deserved and very important 3 points.
