The board of directors of Darlington Football Club would like to announce the signing of Ryan Brobbel.

Ryan, 22, is an attacking midfielder who started his career at Middlesbrough, earning a professional contract after progressing through the youth ranks. He had loan spells at York and Hartlepool before he was released by Boro at the end of last season.

He played in a couple of pre season games for Quakers, and has now agreed to come on a more permanent basis.

Manager Martin Gray said: “Ryan has got some very good quality. He’s creative, is very smart on the ball, and uses the ball well.

“Even though he’s 22 years old, he’s got plenty of experience so far in his career.”

Ryan will go straight into the squad for Tuesday night’s home game with Ramsbottom United.

We all hope that Ryan has a long and happy stay with us.
