New coaching role in Egypt
We would like to announce that Sam Pascoe, the club’s football administrator, will be leaving us soon to take up a coaching role with Manchester City's Football Group program in Cairo, Egypt.
During his time with us, Sam has added to his coaching experience and qualifications with our youth, academy, and women's first team, and his contributions will be greatly missed by them.
John Vickerman, Non-Exec Director said : “I am delighted to see Sam progress to what will be a fabulous opportunity for him. He is a talented and engaging young coach and has brought so much to the club in terms of his support for the Youth, Women’s, and Academy teams as well as his work with the club and Foundation. This is an excellent international move, and I am sure we all look forward to seeing how he progresses.”
Sam said; “Firstly, I would just like to say a big thank you to John, Chris, and the rest of the board for the opportunity to work for such a great club on a daily basis, it has been a fantastic learning experience. As well as this, I can't thank them enough for the constant support they've shown me with my coaching for the youth section, women's first team and for the Foundation. It's a bittersweet moment to be leaving Darlington, as although I'm excited for my next challenge, I'm leaving Darlington at a very exciting time in the club’s history.
“With that said, I am very excited to be starting my new role with Manchester City's Football group program in Cairo, Egypt. It is City Football Group's ambition to increase participation in football and to develop the best footballing talent and I'm very much looking forward to being part of achieving this in Cairo.”
Everyone at Darlington Football Club would like to wish Sam all the best in the future.
