πŸ”₯ Match Preview

Darlo look to rebound after a disappointing Tuesday night away to Hereford when they travel to local rivals Spennymoor Town.

The Quakers come into this game after a loss to Hereford at the Sixways Stadium, where a last-minute penalty was won and scored by Hereford full-back Aaron Skinner.

On the road this season, the Quakers have been solid with seven wins and three draws in 16 away games, with 25 goals scored and 25 goals conceded, which puts them 5th in the away form table.

Darlington’s opponents, Spennymoor, have turned their form around recently and currently sit 12th in the league with 12 wins, and seven draws in 30 games, which has gained them 43 points.

The Moors come into this game after two wins on the bounce, with the most recent being a 2-0 away win at Leamington on Tuesday with goals from Mackenzie Heaney and Glen Taylor.

When at The Brewery Field this season, Spennymoor haven’t made the fortress they would have liked, with five wins and four draws in 14 home games, with 20 goals scored and 25 conceded for a total of 19 points, which puts them 19th in the away form table.

The last time the two clubs met was back in November, when a last-minute Cedric Main worldie won the game for the Quakers. The last time Darlo went to The Brewery Field, Spennymoor won 2-1 with a late penalty goal from Caden Kelly.

πŸ‘€ Player Spotlight

Glen Taylor once again has been the main talisman for Spennymoor this season, with 17 goals and six assists to his name. He has contributed to over half of their goals this season. He has three goals in his last two games, which were victories over Peterborough Sports and Leamington.

Last week, they signed Tom Broadbent, who was playing at Tow Law Town till the end of the season. Previously, he had a three-year stint with South Shields, so he will be familiar with playing against The Quakers. Since he came in, they have won both of their games.

The Spennymoor squad also contains former players Rob Ramshaw, Cameron Salkeld and Junior Mondal.

Darlington defender Kallum Griffiths will be playing against his old club.
