Quakers failed to take their chances and lost to two second half goals at the Brewery Field.
Quakers were on top in the first half and at the start of the second, but they couldn't convert their chances when they came along, and all they had to show for their efforts was a late penalty by Caden Kelly.
Quakers threatened first with a good ball out to the right by Matty Cornish for Jack Maskell to whip in a low cross that Brad James held.
Moors responded when Quakers lost possession on the edge of their own area, and Matty Dyson picked the ball up but fired wide.
Quakers had a chance on 7 minutes when Caden Kelly threaded the ball through for Maskell inside the area, but James came out and saved at the striker’s feet.
Cornish then found Scott Barrow out on the left, but the full back’s cross was cleared by a defender on the penalty spot.
Moors won the first corner on 14 minutes, but Peter Jameson confidently fisted the inswinger away.
Quakers went up the other end, and Cornish had an effort on the edge of the area charged down.
Moors had a chance on 20 minutes when Corey McKeown crossed from the right for Olly Dyson to set up Rutledge, but he scuffed his shot wide.
Maskell put the ball in the net from a Kelly cross on 22 minutes, but he was flagged for offside.
Quakers went their closest yet on 25 minutes when Kelly found Hedley with a good crossfield pass, and the full back’s right foot shot from 25 yards went just over the bar.
They had another chance on 27 minutes. Cornish had a powerful shot charged down and the ball came out to Hedley, who stepped inside a challenge and hit a left fot shot that James just managed to push over the bar.
Quakers won two corners in the space of a minute, the second of which Elliot Forbes headed just over the top.
Again Kelly was involved with another crossfield pass for Hedley to put into the middle for Will Hatfield to head over the bar.
Quakers nearly scored in stoppage time. Kelly played the ball in from the left for Barrow to move forward and hit a right foot shot that beat James but skimmed the bar.
Quakers had created more chances in the first half with Kelly prominent, but they couldn't make them count.
Half time0-0
Quakers had a chance on 49 minutes when Cornish made another good run up the right and found Maskell in the six yard area, but James just managed to block his shot.
Rutledge found space at the other end to strike a low shot that Jameson comfortably held.
Quakers broke up the left on 57 minutes, but Main’s ball inside to the unmarked Cornish was too far.
Quakers fell behind on 59 minutes. Dyson chased a long ball through the Darlington defence, and lifted the ball over the advancing Jameson.
It was 2-0 five minutes later. Matty Dolan made ground up the left and crossed into the near post where Rutledge volleyed into the bottom corner.
Quakers tried to respond and Main got clean through, but James blocked his shot.
James pulled off another save, this time point blank from Hetherington after the sub had connected to a left wing cross.
Quakers won a free kick on 77 minutes about 30 yards out for a foul on Bakre, and Kelly fired the free kick just over the top.
Hetherington tried his luck with a low 25 yarder that James saved at the foot of his post, then the keeper also saved from Nelson.
Quakers got a late penalty when Bakre was brought down in the area, and Kelly scored from the spot, but there wasn't enough time to score another.
