π₯ Match Preview
The Quakers look to make it three wins from three games in pre-season when they travel to Stockton Town.
The Quakers have had a promising start to pre-season with two wins on the bounce against Blyth Spartans and Sunderland U21’s respectively.
This game should prove to be a great test for Darlington as Stockton Town are a strong side who will look to be challenging at the top of the Northern Premier League Premier Division again this year.
The Anchors have had a strong summer already with statement signings of Jake Petitjean, former Darlo youth player Vinnie Steels, Jamie Bramwell and ex-Darlo forward Amar Purewal, who joins his brother Arjun and other former Quakers in Stephen Thompson and Michael Sweet.
Stockton have already played three pre-season games so far, with some strong results, including a win over Guisborough Town and a 5-0 win over Billingham Town.
π€ Player Spotlight
Last season, Michael Sweet was the main goal threat for The Anchors as he found the back of the net 17 times. In the previous season, he bagged a double in their NPL East playoff final victory over Dunston -- for whom Jack Maskell scored a hat trick and finished on the losing side -- to reach step 3.
Another key man is the winger Kevin Hayes, who scored six goals last season. He has spent nine years at the club since they were in the Wearside League, accumulating over 100 goals during his tenure.
