Thanks to our matchball sponsors: In memory of Steve Raine

Former editor of Mission Impossible

Steve Raine was a lifelong supporter from the 1960s.   His family moved to Middlesbrough when he was a child but he carried on supporting Darlington FC.

He graduated from the University of Essex with a degree in Politics.

He later became the editor of the Darlo football fanzine: 'Mission Impossible - An Alternative View of Darlington FC' which he edited for seven years.   The fanzine ran from March 1989 to 2000 and produced over 70 issues with a circulation of between 800 and 1,100.

Steve ran a Post Office in Thorntree (Middlesbrough) and later Norton Green in Stockton on Tees.   His other passion was Durham Cricket Club.    He was often in the George & Dragon pub in Norton.  He was instantly recognisable as the guy in the donkey jacket with a rolled up copy of The Guardian under his arm and his Golden Virginia baccy tin.  He died from Cancer at the age of 64 on Sunday, February 17th, 2019.
