Toni Upton returns to Quaker Women

Experienced player signs on again

DFC Women would like to officially announce that Toni Upton has returned to the club after a brief spell with Chester Le Street Town.

Manager Shaun Mackenzie said: “We are happy to bring Toni back into the fold and when she took the opportunity to go and play at a higher level, I always said she would be welcome back if things didn’t quite work out. Her experience and desire to win can only help us in the new season and it’s great to have healthy competition for places in thar starting eleven.”

Toni had the following to say on her return: “It’s great to be back with Darlington and playing alongside the lasses that have always made me feel part of their football family.

“I’ve had an amazing experience training at a high intensity with some very talented players. Unfortunately, the travelling time alongside current work commitments was becoming difficult to manage.

“Thanks to Shaun for welcoming me back into the fold.

“The girls at Darlington have had a fantastic start to pre season and I am looking forward to getting stuck in and working hard for a place in the squad. Hopefully I can help contribute to get the team moving up the leagues where they deserve to be.”

We would like to thank Chester Le Street Town for their understanding and cooperation with the transfer.
