The club would like to update our fans on our search for a permanent manager following the departure of Alun Armstrong.

We have received around 30 genuine applications for the role, and we have been very encouraged by the quality of the applicants, who have a wide range of experience in the game. The deadline for applications is 5pm Monday night.

We are now at the point of starting interviews of our shortlist.

In the meantime, the caretaker trio of Will Hatfield, Jake Lawlor and Tom Platt will remain in charge of team affairs, particularly with a home FA Cup tie against Workington on Friday evening.

We are sure that all Darlington fans will give the trio every support, and will remain patient while we continue the appointment process.
