Use of the Blackwell Meadows car park -- from the club's safety officer

Following the club’s return to Darlington, the issue of entering and exiting the car park at Blackwell Meadows for the first few games will be a learning curve for all. I would ask all Darlington fans to be understanding and tolerant as this process develops.

Upon the end of the game on any given match day, priority of exit will be given to all foot traffic. For the first two games, this has taken between 10 to 15 minutes following the final whistle. Ten minutes before the end of the game we would ask all fans parked in the main car park adjacent to the Club House not to move cars at all. This is to prevent potential interaction with any fans leaving on foot early from the game.

In general when there is no segregation at any game, foot traffic will exit from both ends of the ground at the same time. On the occasions where segregation is required then departure times for all may take a little longer.

When all foot traffic is clear of all parking areas and the exit road then cars will be released. We will endeavour to do this in an even and fair way.

It will assist a speedier exit for all, if traffic only turns left from the exit on to Grange Road then uses the roundabout to change direction if necessary.

Site clearance following a game is around 35-40 minutes. We hope to reduce this significantly as the club and the fans become more used to how the site works.

We thank all fans for their patience and understanding.
