This week, we spoke to Georgi Tate, from Tbilisi in Georgia. Georgi has supported the team for about 5 years, so he’s already experienced all the emotional highs and lows that every true fan needs to go through to prepare them for all the ups and downs to come!

Georgi runs his own Facebook page devoted to the club (facecbook.com/DarloAreBack), helping to keep our supporters up-to-date with what’s happening both on and off the field.

Georgi, I imagine you're our only native Russian speaking fan, what made you choose Darlo as your team?

Georgi: My Dad is from Darlo and he supports them so when I got interested in football he said I could support any team I wanted so long as they were called Darlo, so I am a true Darlo supporter now!

I know your dad buys you lots of things from Quaker Retail, what's your most prized Darlo possession?

I think my favourite thing is my Darlo cushion cover – it’s nice & comfy – but I prize all of my Darlo gear quite equally.

Who is your favourite player, and why?

My favourite player is David Dowson, because when he comes on from the bench I always think he will score like he did in the play-offs against Spennymoor.

What are you most excited about this season?

The promotion race looks like it will be very tight because there are a bigger number of very good teams in this league. If we can get into the play-offs knowing that the prize is to start next season back in Darlo then that will be the most exciting thing of all.

When are you going to persuade your mum & dad to bring you over to see a game?

Hopefully one day soon I can come and see my heroes play... in DARLO!

And finally… how do you say "Come on Darlo" in Russian?

Davai Darlo! (pronounced davv-eye)

Great stuff Georgi, many thanks for your support!

We'll be talking to more Darlo fans in this new series!
