Saturday 8th October 2022:

TJFA Girls U9 Blue Division:

Darlington FC Vs. Boro Rangers FC

Team Coach Shaun Mackenzie said; "The girls played an extremely talented Boro Rangers team and worked their socks off right till the final whistle. Proud of every single one of them for not giving up. After listening to half time instructions, the girls improved in the second half and will look forward to the next game".

RFYL Girls U11 Division One:

Darlington FC Quakers Vs. Gateshead Leam Youth FC

Team Coach Jamie Miller said; "Great result from the girls today! The girls played some great football, on the front foot from the 1st whistle to the last with a convincing scoreline that has been coming for the past few weeks. The whole team were a joy to watch today, some great passing and moving the ball throughout the game couldn't be prouder today. Well done girls".

RFYL Girls U13 Premier Division:

Boldon FC 3-6 Darlington FC

POTM: Izzy Kilpatrick

Goalscorers: Annie A (2), Xienna (2), Freya & Izzy K

Team Coach Mick Walton said; "An early start for the girls today showed as we conceded the first goal but then got into our stride with some slick passing against a very physical Boldon team and soon found ourselves 3-1 up through goals from Annie, Izzy and Freya. Second half Boldon came out firing and grabbed one back before we grabbed 3 more with a brace from Xienna and a rocket from Annie. Great performance from the girls on a hard pitch & against a strong team".

RFYL Girls U14 Premier Division:

Chester United FC 5-0 Darlington FC Quakers

Team Coach Shaun Mackenzie said; "Quakers played the current premier league champions and they played well against a very good team. 1-0 down at half time the girls frustrated the opposition and even though the game ended in defeat the girls can be proud of their performance".

POTM: Neve Griffiths

RFYL Boys U8 Division Three:

Darlington FC Vs. Spennymoor FC

Team Coach Chris Fenwick said; "A really determined performance from Darlington today. With only five boys they all put in a massive effort. After conceding first, Darlington dominated the 1st half and got there rewards through some good football to put them in the driving seat at half time. In the second half, The Darlo lads worked hard for each other and with some good saves from our goalkeeper, we managed to keep control of the game".

RFYL Boys U10 Premier Division:

Darlington FC Quakers Vs. Washington FC

Team Coach Lee Childs said; "A solid performance from the boys against a newly promoted Washington team. The game was tight and a little scrappy in the early exchanges. The lads showed a lot of intensity in the press, causing mistakes and leading to a breakthrough inside the first 5 minutes. Not long after we gave away a sloppy penalty away which came from nowhere. A great strike from the penalty spot was excellently saved at full stretch by our goalkeeper. After this, we got a hold of the game, playing with fluidity and speed to take a good lead in to half time. The second half continued as the first half left off, with the boys playing some lovely football. A good win and performance".

RFYL Boys U10 Premier Division:

Darlington FC Feethams Vs. Foundation of Light FC

Team Coach David Boardman said; "We started slowly at the start, showing a little to much respect to the opposition as the lads were aware they came runners up last season. The boys then started to match the opposition and for large parts were the better side. Unfortunately a last minute goal for the opposition meant we didn’t collect our first point of the season. I'm immensely proud of the boys today for their attitude and application, if they continue in the same form then it won’t be long before we start winning!".

RFYL Boys U15 Division Two:

Sunderland RCA 2-7 Darlington FC

Goalscorers: Paddy (2), Harry, Charlie, AJ, Alex & Josh

POTM: Josh

Team Coach Michael Eggleston said; "A dominant first half today from Darlington boys. Paddy opened the scoring with a sharp turn and finish, closely followed by AJ playing in Harry to hammer home the second. Charlie fired in the 3rd from 20 yards which was then followed up by Paddy smashing in a 4th from distance and AJ coolly slotted home a 5th. We gave a couple of sloppy goals away early in the second half, but responded well to get back on top. Alex finished from close range for 6, and then Josh put a 30 yarder in the top corner to round the job off".

Sunday 9th October 2022:

TJFA Boys U7 League Cup:

Darlington FC Quakers Vs. Stokesley FC

Team Coach Wayne Rudd said; "Another really good performance from the U7s, today against Stokesley. There was some great football played only 1 goal scored by the Quakers but the post hit on several occasions, great saves from their keeper and some unawarded penalty decisions went against the team today. The team should be proud of the their performance, they will definitely continue to improve".

TJFA Boys U9 Red Division:

Darlington FC Vs. Northallerton Whites FC

Team Coach Paul Robertson said; "Played outstanding football from start to finish , boys are definitely the team to beat this season".

TJFA Boys U10 League Cup:

Prissick Rovers FC Vs. Darlington FC Quakers

Team Coach Sam Pascoe said; "An opportunity for me and Lee to rotate players in different positions today. The lads played some great football throughout and was great to see almost every player get on the scoresheet. Most importantly for me, is that the lads continued to play some great football throughout the game. Credit to Prissick, their lads showed a lot of character today and we would like to wish them the best of luck with the rest of their season".

TJFA Boys U10 League Cup

Whitby Fisherman FC Vs. Darlington FC Feethams

Team Coach Dom Webber said; "A lovely day out for the boys in the sunshine by the coast as they passed their way around the fishermen of Whitby. A great trawl of goals for the Darlo lads meant that their celebrations were not out of plaice. The Whitby team were great hosts, though they thanked cod for the final whistle. Darlo through to the next round of the cup".

TJFA Boys U11 League Cup:

Stockton Town Yellows Vs. Darlington FC Feethams

Team Coach Paul Orton said; "It was a fairly even game at times today with both teams playing the possession game and doing it well. However, we did edge the possession stats along with chances created and the Stockton final third definitely wasn’t unfamiliar territory to us today. We were looking for the boys to be positive today and express themselves with attacking prowess in mind. They responded to this well and caused problems for Stockton all game who were relieved to just clear the ball when possible. Our goals were excellent, both with good interchanges in the attacking third which opened up space for us to advance into and get strikes on goal. It was a good cup game and we are delighted with the way the boys performed with good effort and desire shown throughout. I felt very sorry for the boys at the final whistle as they should definitely have been rewarded for what was a very comfortable display but instead they bow out of the cup. Not once did we feel threatened by Stockton today but they had extreme luck which ended successfully for them during some very fortunate spells in the game".

TJFA Boys U12 League Cup:

Stokesley FC 1-3 Darlington FC

Team Coach Chris Stephens said; "The lads started well, but a mix up between our goalkeeper and defender resulted in Stokesley going 1-0 up. We continued to play some good football and the lads got back level not long after. We continued to press and went in at halftime ahead. The second half was a good battle but we managed to hold them and add a third goal to our tally. Onto the next round of the cup we go.

TJFA Boys U16 League Cup:

Darlington FC 4-1 Stockton Town FC Blues

Goalscorers: Lennon Harland (2), Luca Smith & Harry Maddison

POTM: Ewan Marriott

Team Coach Dan Hook said; "Darlo make it two wins from two in the league. An open first ten minutes saw both teams share a few half chances but as the game settled Darlo started to take command. A string of 6 dangerous corners ended with a close range header from Lennon Harland to make it 1-0. Lennon added a second shortly after with a cooly taken penalty after the away side struggled to clear another dangerous corner and eventually were forced into a foul. A stunning free kick from Luca Smith extended the lead to 3-0 and Darlo went into the break with a score line that reflected their dominance.

The second half was a more even affair, as the home side struggled to connect with passes in key areas allowing opposition counter attacks. With 20 minutes to go, Stockton scored from a corner to test Darlo’s mentality. The lads stood firm and a potential goal of the season contender ended the contest. Superb wing play from Reuben Scotter, beating 3 players before floating a deep cross over the box. Arriving at full speed, Harry Maddison struck the sweetest of half-volleys from 20 yards out that rocketed across the keeper into the far top corner. Another confidence building performance today".
