Saturday 22 October 2022:
RFYL Girls U11 Cup:
Darlington Locomotives FC Vs. Darlington FC Quakers
Team Coach Jamie Miller said; "A local derby that proved to be a tight affair. Was a fast and furious game which both teams gave everything and couldn't be separated at the final whistle. Match went to penalties which Darlington FC Quakers won thanks to some great saves and some quality finishing".
RFYL Girls U13 Premier Division:
Norton & Stockton FC 5-4 Darlington FC
POTM: Rubie Walton
Team Coach Mick Walton said; "The girls were outstanding today, great attitude from all of them and equally excellent football. They showed great resilience & attitude and certainly didn’t deserve to lose this game but unfortunately there were some terrible decisions. A solid team performance which will only make us stronger for the upcoming games".

RFYL Boys U10 Premier Division:
Darlington FC Feethams Vs. Revolution FC
Team Coach David Boardman said; "A difficult game today for the lads. We have developed a bad habit of starting games slow and giving sides the chance to score early on, leaving us to chase the game. The boys heads dropped after the first goal and struggled conceding a further 2 more even though we created several good opportunities to score in the 1st half. We had a good chat at half time and the boys certainly improved in the 2nd half and grew throughout and were the much better side but only managing to convert one of the many chances they had created".
RFYL Boys U13 Division One:
Darlington FC 4-1 Chester Le Street
POTM: Jack Knight
Team Coach Richie Allen said; "A very comfortable 4-1 win for the boys today. The lads played some lovely football on the floor, with some equally patient build up, playing out from the back".

RFYL Boys U15 Division Two:
Coxhoe FC 1-0 Darlington FC
POTM: Lewis Healey
Team Coach Michael Eggleston said; "An unbelievably gutsy performance from the lads today, I couldn't be prouder of them. Going into the game, we only had 11 players available. Early into the game, Paddy had to come off injured, Rudi then took ill and Liam P got injured, meaning we only had 8 players on the pitch for a period of time. We managed to get Paddy and Liam back on late into the first half, and went in at half time with the game goalless. We had to play the whole second half with ten men, and the lads gave it their all, and matched Coxhoe all game. With ten minutes remaining, Coxhoe managed to find a winner with a fantastic strike from long range. The result won’t shape our season, but the character of these lads will. They were outstanding and left nothing out there".

Riverside Juniors Blues FC Vs. Darlington FC Quakers FC

TJFA Boys U10 Blue Division:
Darlington FC Feethams Vs. Hurworth Albion
Team Coach Dom Webber said; "A good attitude from both teams today meant that the watching fans were treated to some decent football. Darlington dominated possession from the off and created some good chances, James converting one of a series of great crosses from Regan. It took until nearly half time before they found their second goal with a classic through ball and finish. At the start of the second half Hurworth rallied and put some pressure on Darlington but the boys kept their composure, defended well and scored a third to dampen Hurworth's spirit. Hurworth did manage a consolation between a couple more Darlo goals which sealed a deserved victory".
TJFA Boys U11 Blue Division:
Guisborough Town FC Vs. Darlington FC Quakers
Team Coach Scott Mallen said; "Darlington U11's Quakers were on the road this morning against Guisborough Town. The Quakers boys went into the game with bare numbers, with several players away over half term. Guisborough took the lead early on, but the boys didn't let this affect them as they continued to press the opposition and playing the better football and eventually got a deserving equaliser. With no opportunities to make a substitution, the players continued to battle for every single ball, playing some beautiful football and were unlucky to not take the lead. In the closing seconds, Guisborough Town scrambled in a winner from a corner. The boys did themselves proud today, and we could not be prouder of them".
TJFA Boys U11 Red Division:
Darlington FC Vs. Hurworth FC
Team Coach Paul Orton said; "We went into the game with a full squad with all 14 players available for the first time this season. We were also pleased to welcome back centre forward L12 who had been nursing a knee injury for the past 3 weeks.
We started the game playing with a high line which gave the boys the impetus to keep the pressure on in the opponents half. This allowed us to create opportunities but unfortunately to no avail. Some excellent defending by the Hurworth centre half meant our attempts on target were limited. Defensively we appeared to be sound but the odd counter attack did come our way which we dealt with well for the most part.
The second half saw us applying more pressure and a short time after the break we got our just rewards with a great passage of play which we had been threatening with throughout the game. A nice 3 player combination led to midfielder O.15 being through on goal to slot home. It was good to see the quality passing and movement of our boys come to fruition.
We were well in control of the game but then the torrential downpour came making it hard for the ball to be manipulated in wet slippery conditions. Overall lots of positives will be taken from the way the boys played today, with the use of 5 substitutes we managed to maintain a good performance level which speaks volumes about our squad".

TJFA Boys U16 Challenge Cup:
Darlington FC 8-2 Blackwell Rangers Clarets FC
POTM: Joseph Acuna
Goalscorers: Luca Smith (2), Reuben Scotter (2), Joseph Acuna (2), Dylan Robson & Ethan McLoughlin
Team Coach Dan Hook said; "In conditions that can only be described as biblical, Darlington were lucky enough to play this game on the Astroturf and delivered a performance befitting the surface. The first 5 minutes were chaotic as both teams struggled to adapt to the driving rain. The away side twice took the lead in the opening minutes but Darlington squared the game at 2-2 with 10 minutes gone.
From here on out it was a very one sided affair. Darlington were playing impressive sharp passes in midfield and regularly threaded balls between defenders for the attackers to run onto; Luca Smith benefiting with two 1v1 goals from this positive game plan. A penalty from Reuben Scotter and a powerful header by Ethan McLoughlin from a corner saw Darlington lead 4-2 at the break. With the rain beginning to ease, Darlington really went to work in the 2nd Half. Continued midfield dominance and a team commitment to pressing high and often led to countless chances throughout the half. Goals from Joseph Acuna (2), Dylan Robson and Reuben Scotter’s 2nd of the match made for a comfortable and deserved scoreline. With several regulars missing this week, this performance highlighted the strength of the squad and the huge steps we’ve taken in bonding as a newly assembled side - very proud today!
