TJFA Girls U9 Blue Division:
Darlington FC Vs. Hartlepool FC
Team Coach Chloe Bright said' "The girls had their first ever league match as a team today and worked extremely hard throughout. They played some really good football and never gave up!".
TJFA Girls U11 White Division:
Darlington FC Feethams Vs. Redcar Town FC Whites
Team Coach Chloe Bright said; "The girls began the game fast and raring to go with two very early goals. The midfield worked together making some great passes and playing some lovely football for both goals. The girls didn’t stop there, adding more goals to their tally before half time. The second half started with some position changes, and the girls carried on playing some great football and scoring some great team goals. Brilliant game to start the season!".
Darlington FC Girls U11 Feethams
RFYL Girls U13 Premier Division:
Newton Aycliffe FC 3-3 Darlington FC
POTM: Grace Burkin
Team Coach Mick Walton said; "The girls first game a year up couldn’t have got much harder then against the side that won the league last season. Despite an even opening 30 minutes to the game, Aycliffe took a 2-0 lead. We did manage to grab a goal back into the game before half time through Xienna. The girls took control of the second half and found themselves 3-2 up, Annie Anderson grabbing both goals. After this, Aycliffe piled the pressure on and 4 minutes from time found an equaliser".
RFYL Girls U14 Premier Division:
Hartlepool United 0-3 Darlington FC
Goalscorers: Daisy L, Ella L & Liv M
POTM: Kirsty W
Team Coach Shaun Mackenzie said; "After a rocky pre season, the Quaker Girls got off to a great start to their league campaign, with 3 points away at Hartlepool. They played some fantastic football throughout and it was great to see the determination and effort put in from every single one of them to secure the win. The girls led at half time, 1-0 after Daisy L tapped home following up a shot from Madeline G.
The girls continued to keep the ball on the floor and after some great saves from Erin to keep Darlo’s lead, Ella L finished a superbly well worked team goal, which must have seen 10 passes before the finish, great work by Madeline and Millie on the left hand side. Liv M finished off the scoring with a good finish in the bottom corner after Scarlett S had a shot saved well by the Hartlepool keeper".
RFYL Girls U18 South Division:
Hartlepool United FC 7-6 Darlington FC
Goalscorers: Nicole (2), Liv Lee, Rachel, Lily W & Olivia B
POTM: Evie
Team Coach Scott Buckton said; "First game of the new campaign saw us travel to rivals Hartlepool. In the first half, we had to fight back and come from behind twice with goals from liv lee and Nicole Bagging herself a brace saw us 3-2 up at half time. Second half started with ourselves on the offensive adding more goals to our tally, but this wasn’t enough to see out the game and credit were credit is due Hartlepool heads didn’t drop with the scoreline not in their favour they came at us like a battering ram and came out overall winners with the scoreline finishing 7-6".
RFYL Boys U8 Division 3:
Darlington FC Vs. Belmont United FC
Team Coach Chris Fenwick said; "Darlington fell behind to a scrappy goal as several attempts to clear the ball ricocheted off our own players before falling to a Belmont player who finished well first time. Darlington equalised after a number of corners led to a penalty which was converted. Unfortunately we switched off and Belmont regained the lead immediately from kick off with a run straight through the middle. Second half was all Darlington and we managed to grab a late equaliser".

RFYL Boys U10 Premier Division:
Easington FC Vs. Darlington FC Quakers
Team Coach Lee Childs said; "Very much a game of two halves this morning to kick off the season. The boys started well initially taking the lead from the penalty spot. After that we stepped off a little bit and gave away two soft goals from set pieces. One from a free kick which deflected past everyone and flew in to the net. The second from a corner, was a result of poor defending with our lads static as the ball came in, resulting in a tap in for Easington. Second half the lads stepped up a gear and took control of the game. We scored early on and then added a third goal shortly after. Our keeper then made a brilliant double save to keep us in the lead. A great stop initially and an equally great reaction save. We kept working hard and played some lovely quick flowing football which resulted in a great team goal to finish the game off".

RFYL Boys U10 Premier Division:
Pass Soccer FC Vs. Darlington FC Feethams
Team Coach Dom Webber said; "A difficult debut game in a new league for the lads. Pass Soccer's finishing was superb, every chance seeming to be converted whereas we struggled to finish off some fine moves and just had some plain bad luck. There were lots of positives from the game and the boys learned a lot about how to play with each other. Most impressive was that they never stopped attacking and got a well deserved goal towards the end. This team will continue to improve and will find their feet in this league".
RFYL Boys U13 Division One:
Foundation of Light 0-9 Darlington FC
Goalscorers: Frankie Alderson (3), Daniel Brumpton (3) & Sol Harland (3)
POTM: Frankie Alderson for his constant hard work and great finishing.
Team Coach Richie Allen said; "Great start to the season from the boys! The boys came flying out the block’s and put the game to bed early, going in at halftime with an 8-0 advantage. They understandably took the foot of the gas a little in the second half, but still added one more goal and maintained a clean sheet throughout the game.

The hosts equalised just after half time, before Paddy slid in at the back post to restore our lead. Lewis then scored an outrageous 25 yard volley which killed the game off. Flynn made it 4 from close range, before Liam P went through and slotted home for 5. An excellent performance and perfect start to the season".

Sunday 18th September 2022:
TJFA Boys U7 Argentina Division:
Darlington FC Quakers Vs. Guisborough Town Reds FC
Team Coach Wayne Rudd said; "It was the first league game and the boys got off to a flying start seeing them storm to victory. The whole team worked really well together playing some great football".
Darlington FC Boys U7's
TJFA Boys U9 Red Division:
Darlington FC Vs. Leven
Team Coach Paul Robertson said; "Sharp from the start and controlled the game from the first whistle. Every player was outstanding and played quality football on the floor".
TJFA Boys U11 Red Division:
Seaton Carew Lions Vs Darlington FC
Team Coach Paul Orton said; "We travelled to Seaton Carew for our opening encounter of the TJFA 2022/23 season with a squad of 13 players and everyone of them deserves a huge amount of credit for the way they applied themselves today. This would also be our first game with the new No Heading Rule which is being trialled for the season.
It was a good start to the game for us. The boys passed the ball well, playing positively and creating goal scoring opportunities. The boys started strong, creating some great passages of play whilst also keeping our opponents relatively quiet. Finally with our fifth opportunity of the match we broke the deadlock. A low shot was well saved by the Seaton keeper only for the quick reactions of one of our players to put the ball in the back of the net. We went into the halftime break delighted with the effort and desire shown by the team both in possession and out of possession.
We introduced four players at halftime and were looking for a continuation of the first half performance. We started well again but a penalty decision for hand ball went against us on the 40th minute. Seaton made no mistake from the spot kick. Our boys reacted very well, it gave them the kickstart and determination to get their just awards for the effort and good play they had produced so far. This came on the 48th minute when one of our players found a pocket of space between lines before unleashing a long range effort leaving the Seaton keeper helpless. The boys managed the game well for the remaining time and they fully deserved their positive result today.
Seaton Carew are a physical team with some very good players and can make life difficult. Me and Kev are extremely pleased with the boys, it’s a tough place to come and the team effort was just brilliant. Well done to all of them".
TJFA Boys U12 Division Two:
Darlington FC Feethams 0-5 Richmond Town FC
Team Coach Chris Stephens said; "We didn’t get off to a good start. Some of the new additions will take time to bed into the team, however we take the positives and put what we didn't get right into training.

TJFA Boys U17 Division One:
Darlington FC 2-1 Marton Blues
Goalscorers: Harry & Raphael
POTM: Owen Harvey
Team Coach John Walters said; "In the first league game of the season the lads got off to a winning start 2-1 in a tight affair against one of the best teams in this league. All 15 players were Superb today from the 1st minute to the last, and player of the match could have gone to a number of them but Owen Harvey just pip it with a great performance at centre back. We scored through Harry with a great strike from outside the box and then a great footwork and clinical finish from Raph. Keep up the hard work lads!".
