Jamie Holmes ruled out for six months

Injury worse than first thought

Quakers have learned that striker Jamie Holmes will be ruled out because of injury for six months.

The former Newcastle player went off injured in the 1-1 home draw with Gateshead last week, and an examination by a specialist has found that he has suffered a cruciate ligament injury which will mean six months on the sidelines.

Manager Alun Armstrong said; “We’ve had the results from the specialist, and he’s ruptured his ACL, so he’ll be out for six months. I’m absolutely devastated for the lad and us as he is a very talented player.

“We’ve had some bad luck with injuries recently – first Luke Trotman and now Jamie.”

We would like to wish Jamie all the best in his recovery
