The club is sad to hear about the death of former physio Ronnie Lamprell, who passed away earlier this week.

Ronnie was the physio during our GM Vauxhall Conference and Fourth Division title winning years between 1989 and 1991, and is pictured checking his watch in those tense dying minutes with manager Brian Little at Welling in 1990 after Gary Coatsworth had put us in the lead.

Kevan Smith, who was skipper during those fantastic two years, said; "Ron was as large as life and you could give him as much stick as you had and he never wavered -- and boy did the lads dish it out !!

"Some of the Darlington players I am sure will be at his funeral to show their respect and appreciation for the vital part he played by patching us all up and getting us all back onto the pitch at Feethams !"

Ronnie's funeral is on Monday at Acklam Crematorium at 1pm.

The club would like to pass on its sympathies and condolences to Ronnie's family.
