Quakers looking for three wins in a row
By Ray Simpson
Third meeting with Bradford PA this season
We host Bradford Park Avenue on Good Friday looking to make it three wins in a row in our penultimate home game of the season. A 2-0 victory on Saturday at Boston United after goals from Kit Elliott and Ben Jackson confirmed our place in the National North for next season.
We stayed in 18th place in the table but it left us only a point behind Leamington and Hereford, as well as only being three points off 13th place Southport.
Bradford PA picked up a much needed 1-0 victory over already relegated Nuneaton to help their playoff chances. Before the game they had failed to win in their previous four league fixtures. The victory leaves them 6th in the table five points ahead of Blyth in eighth and the same number behind third placed Brackley. For Bradford if they do seal a playoff place. Their finishing position is crucial given the six team playoff format brought in last season.
We have already met twice this season. Firstly in September when Bradford PA beat us at Blackwell Meadows in FA Cup qualifying 1-0. We then drew 2-2 away from home in October in our league fixture, but at one stage had led 2-0.
Prior to the defeat in September, we had won the previous two meetings at Blackwell Meadows.
