Former Blyth centre half joins the club
Darlington have today signed centre half Toby Lees, subject to FA and National League approval.
Toby, who is 26, was one of the leading players at Blyth in the last two seasons, and left them when his contract finished earlier this month. He has now agreed terms with Quakers following talks for a one year contract.
Toby started his career at Harrogate Town, and has also played on a permanent basis for Alfreton and Gateshead, as well as loan spells at Harrogate RA, Whitby and Boston United.
Darlington manager Alun Armstrong said:
"Toby is someone I’ve been interested in bringing to the club for a while and we were close to getting him last summer. He has established himself as a very good defender at this level and will strengthen and bring competition to the department we all know needed strengthening.
He’s big, strong, aggressive and defends properly as well as being able to look after the ball when needed."
