Collection for King's Church Foodbank

Help the needy in the town

We will be holding our annual collection for the King’s Church Foodbank at the Telford match on Saturday, so now's the time to buy a little extra in your weekly foodshop, or to check your food storage at home for "in-date" items.

The King’s Church Foodbank is situated on Whessoe Road and is part of a network of foodbanks across the town. Other centres include Grange Road Baptist Church, St. Mary’s Community Centre in Cockerton, St. Andrew’s Church in Haughton-le-Skerne and St. Columba Church on Clifton Road.

The Foodbank is a place where anyone who finds themselves in times of hardship can come and receive an emergency bag of food.

The King’s Church is always grateful for any food donations they receive. However, this year we have asked them to let us know of any specific items that are in high demand. Therefore, if you could bring any items to the AFC Telford match from the following list, they would be particularly welcome

UHT Milk                                           Tinned Meats/ Fish                         Stuffing & Gravy

Instant Mash                                    Tinned Potatoes                              Nuts

Rice Puddings                                   Cereal                                                Pasta or Curry Sauces

Hot Chocolate                                  Coffee                                                Male Teenage Gifts

Men’s Toiletries i.e. Deodorants and Shower Gel

Quakers fans have always given generously as can be seen in the photograph of the proceeds from last year’s collection.
