Our 2-1 defeat at Telford United on Tuesday night left us still in 16th place in the table seven points ahead of third bottom Ashton United. Telford remain sixth but are now only behind Bradford PA and Brackley on goal difference.
Stockport County returned to the top of the table with a 3-1 win away to Boston United. Darren Stephenson and Elliot Osborne put them in control, before Ben Davies pulled one back for the Pilgrims. However, Euan Mulhern sealed the victory for Stockport just four minutes later to send them back to the top of the table two points clear of Chorley.
Spennymoor dropped points in their title bid as they were held at home by Southport. Jack Sampson appeared to have won the game for Southport with nine minutes to go, but Glen Taylor’s late penalty earned the Brewers a 1-1 draw. They are now six points behind Stockport with a game in hand.
Bradford Park Avenue strengthened their playoff hopes to move level on points with fourth place Brackley after a 2-1 success over Leamington. Conor Branson put Bradford ahead after just three minutes, with Ahmed Obeng levelling for the Brakes. However, Macauley Langstaff won the game for the playoff chases just before half time. Leamington are still in a relegation battle six points above the bottom three.
Altrincham have dropped two places to seventh after being held at home by Blyth Spartans. John Johnston put Alty ahead after 20 minutes, but Robbie Dale levelled just seven minutes later to earn Blyth a point.
On Monday night Curzon Ashton moved up to 12th with a 1-0 victory over fourth bottom Guiseley. Lewis Reilly scored the only goal mid way through the first half for the Nash. Guiseley remain just three points ahead of the bottom three.
