The veteran defender returned for his third spell at his home town club on loan from Harrogate Town during the 2013/14 season, a move which during the campaign was made permanent .
Alan started his career with nearby Middlesbrough has a long list of previous clubs. His time at Colchester United saw the centre-back make over a 150 appearances for the club, the most he has made at any side. He joined the Quakers in 2007 and was a regular for the next two seasons under manager Dave Penney, in which the club narrowly missed out on promotion, however administration led to the end of his spell with us.
He returned to the club on loan from Luton Town in the doomed 2009-10 season when the club were relegated from the Football League.
His third spell with the Quakers has been a much more successful one, adding much experience to the side. the first medal that he ever won in football was when Quakers beat Bamber Bridge in the play off final.
He has been used as a striker in 2015-16, and scored twice against Colwyn Bay in a 4-2 victory, and then the winner against Blyth two days later. At one point, he was the club's top scorer with four goals.
