Scott began his career with Swansea City before moving to Port Talbot Town, where he made over 100 appearances and was named in the Welsh Premier League Team of the Year.
He then joined Tamworth in 2010, making another century of appearances over three seasons before spending a year at Macclesfield Town. In 2015, Scott stepped up to the Football League with Newport County, before going on to play for Merthyr Town in the Southern League Premier Division.
He later reunited with Steve Watson at Gateshead, spending three successful seasons there, and followed Watson to York City in 2020. Scott helped York win promotion to the National League in the 2021/22 season, although an injury in the play-off final kept him out for the entirety of 2022/23.
After returning to fitness, Scott joined The Quakers on loan in January 2024, impressing with his consistency and professionalism. Following the end of his contract with York, he signed permanently for the club.
In the 2024/25 season, Scott made 47 appearances, scoring his first goal for the club against Peterborough Sports. His performances earned him an impressive three end-of-season awards — Fans’ Player of the Season, Away Fans’ Player of the Season, and Manager’s Player of the Season.
Manager Steve Watson said:
“Scott was our standout player last season — incredibly consistent and played more games than almost anyone in the squad. He hit a really high standard week in, week out. Despite his age, he’s still as fit as a fiddle and his experience is vital for us. We’re absolutely delighted he’s signed on for another year.”
