Ellis came through the academy at Newcastle United, spending 12 years with the club and earning international recognition with England Under-15s before joining Darlington following his release in the summer of 2025.
After patiently waiting for his opportunity in the starting XI, Ellis established himself as a key player in the Quakers’ midfield following an injury to Will McGowan. The young midfielder impressed with his creativity and composure, producing a series of standout performances and finishing the campaign with eight assists.
Ellis made 34 appearances during his first season at Blackwell Meadows and quickly established himself as one of the club’s brightest young talents. Still only 21, he will be looking to build on an impressive debut campaign as he continues his development in a Darlington shirt.
