Liam Mason officially signed his first-team contract with Darlington FC in November 2025 after progressing through the club’s Under 23s and earning his place in the senior squad.
The young goalkeeper’s first touch as a Darlington first-team player was a memorable one. Introduced from the bench against Scarborough after Rory Watson was forced off injured having conceded a penalty, Liam immediately announced himself by producing an outstanding save from the resulting spot kick on his senior debut.
Liam, was a consistent presence in the matchday squad throughout last season while continuing his development with the club’s Under 23s. His performances and attitude earned him the opportunity to continue his progression with the first team.
Now entering the 2026/27 campaign, Liam will be looking to build on his impressive introduction to senior football as he continues his development and provides strong competition between the posts.
