Aidan Rutledge

Position: Attacker

Aidan, 23, was the leading scorer in the Northern League Second Division for Birtley Town in season 2022-23 , scoring 61 goals in 43 matches. He joined Gateshead in the summer of 2023 and spent a loan spell at Scarborough, scoring nine goals in 23 matches. He joined us on loan for six weeks at the end of the 2023-24 season, scoring twice in six games.

In season 2024-25, he was loaned to South Shields and then Spennymoor, for whom he played in the 2025 Trophy final against Aldershot. He joined us on a permanent basis in the summer of 2025.

“We need to go out and try to win every game, which means as many goal threats as possible. Aidan had an outstanding start in this league, and we are hoping he will reproduce that form for us in the last six matches. He’s very good in the 18-yard box and will complement the squad brilliantly.”
