Bobby began his career in the Middlesbrough Academy before joining Wigan Athletic, where he gained his first taste of senior football during a loan spell with Farsley Celtic. He went on to join AFC Fylde permanently in 2021 before later signing for Stockport County, spending time on loan with Brackley Town and Marine.
The former Republic of Ireland Under-18 international joined Curzon Ashton ahead of the 2024/25 season and enjoyed an outstanding campaign, making 45 appearances and keeping 20 clean sheets as the Nash narrowly missed out on the National League North play-offs on goal difference.
Following his impressive season, Bobby signed for Boston United before spending the first half of the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Spennymoor Town. He then joined Chester, initially on loan before completing a permanent move in February, making 19 appearances and helping the club reach the National League North play-off eliminator.
Now returning to his hometown to join Darlington ahead of the 2026/27 season, Bobby arrives with valuable experience at National League North level and an impressive reputation as a commanding goalkeeper. He will provide strong competition between the posts as he begins the next chapter of his career at Blackwell Meadows.
