Alfie Myers-Smith

Position: Defender 

Born in Durham, Alfie began his career with the Middlesbrough Academy, joining the Under-15 squad. A versatile player, he can operate at right-back, centre-back, and is comfortable in midfield.

Alfie captained the Middlesbrough Under-18 squad on multiple occasions before stepping up to the Under-21s, where he made 23 appearances in the Premier League North during the 2023/24 season.

Last season, he spent time on loan at South Shields in the National League North before being released by Middlesbrough this summer. Alfie joins Darlington to add flexibility and leadership to the squad.

Unfortunately, Alfie suffered an injury in a pre-season match against Newton Aycliffe and will miss the opening part of the season.
