Squad number 31

David started his career at Middlesbrough, and in January 2007 spent three months on loan with us from the Boro, making 16 appearances for us, scoring twice including one on his home debut against Peterborough.

He returned to the Boro at the end of his loan spell, and then went on to make 157 appearances for them in the Premier League and the Championship, before moving to Bolton in January 2011 for an undisclosed fee.

He then on went to make 236 appearances for Bolton in the Premiership, Championship and League One -- helping Bolton win promotion to the Championship -- before leaving Bolton in August 2019 and joining Oldham for whom he played 34 matches, scoring four times.

He left Oldham in March 2021.

On the international front, David was called up into the full England squad on several occasions when he was at Middlesbrough and Bolton, but didn't play.
