Josh Scott

Position: Defender

Josh is a former Newcastle United youngster who progressed through the U18 and U21 ranks, where he was coached by our current Assistant Manager, Terry Mitchell.

On Deadline Day in January 2024, Josh made the move into senior football by joining Queen’s Park FC in the Scottish Championship. The decision paid off as he quickly established himself as a key player, making 44 appearances and scoring four goals.

During his time at Queen’s Park, Josh was part of the team that caused a major upset by knocking out Rangers in the Scottish Cup fifth round.

Assistant Manager Terry Mitchell said:

“We’re delighted to bring Josh in — he adds real quality for the coming season and we’re confident he’ll be a hit with the fans. He brings good balance to the team and gives us flexibility as he can play in several positions down the left-hand side. He’s athletic, strong, can run all day and has real quality in his passing and crossing. Defensively, he’s very competitive and good in one-v-one duels. Just as importantly, he’s a great character who’ll fit in really well in the dressing room.”
