Lucas was in Sunderland's Academy from the age of 13 until he left during the 2018-19 season.

He joined Quakers on trial in the summer of 2019, and after several impressive performances and a goal against Bishop Auckland, he was signed by manager Alun Armstrong.

He was loaned out to Marske United in January 2020
