Mitchell quickly made history upon his arrival at Darlington -- he became the first player born this century to start a league game for the club, in the win over Curzon Ashton in March 2018.

Described by former manager Tommy Wright as one of the most exciting and promising talents in non-league football, he had played under Tommy as a 15 year old at Nuneaton.

Scoring with his first touch of the ball against Boston United for Nuneaton, Mitchell signed for Darlington in December 2017.
