We’re pleased to confirm Will McGowan’s return for the 2025/2026 season.

Will, 22, had two loan spells with the club last season. He scored on his debut against Southport in September and again on his return in March against Warrington, finishing the season with 17 appearances and four goals. He started his career at Sunderland as a youth before moving on to Doncaster, He joined South Shields in 2021 and then to Blyth two years later. He impressed enough at Blyth for Gateshead to sign him in the summer of 2024. He joined us on loan again in the summer of 2025
