We’re delighted to confirm that Peter Jameson has signed a one-year contract with The Quakers for the 2025/2026 season.
Pete played a major role in Darlington’s promotions through the Evo-Stik League First Division and Premier Division into the National League North, before going on loan to South Shields in March 2017 and then Blyth Spartans the following summer.
He spent two seasons at Blyth before being signed by Steve Watson for York City in 2019, where he made 102 appearances over three seasons. Pete then moved into the Football League with Harrogate Town, making 27 League Two appearances, and spent last season on loan at Hartlepool United. After his release from Harrogate in June 2024, Darlington moved quickly to bring him back. He joined Gateshead as player-coach in the summer of 2025, but was loaned back to Quakers.
Manager Steve Watson said:
“The goalkeeping position is all important in a team, and you really need to have a really strong keeper. In my opinion, Pete is the best keeper at this level. When he was with me at York, he saved us numerous points, and since then, he has gained more experience in the Football League and the National League and got even better. Pete enjoyed success with the club before, and had a great relationship with the fans, which was another reason why he wanted to return.”
Pete’s experience and leadership between the sticks will be vital for Darlington as we aim to compete strongly in the 2025/2026 season.
