Goalkeeper
DOB 21/4/1993
Pete, who has signed a one year contract, played a major part in our promotions through the EvoStik League First Division and Premier Division into the National League North, before he moved on loan to South Shields in March 2017, and then to Blyth Spartans the following summer.
Pete stayed at Blyth for two seasons, before Steve Watson signed him for York City in 2019. He stayed at York for three seasons playing 102 games, before he moved up to the Football League with Harrogate.
He played 27 times for them in League Two, before moving to Hartlepool on loan last season. Harrogate released him at the end of his contract in June, and Steve moved quickly to sign him and re-ignite their partnership.
Here’s an interview with Pete:
Steve said; “The goalkeeping position is all important in a team, and you really need to have a really strong keeper.
“In my opinion, Pete is the best keeper at this level. When he was with me at York, he saved us numerous points, and since then, he has gained more experience in the Football League and the National League and got even better.
“Pete enjoyed success with the club before, and had a great relationship with the fans, which was another reason why he wanted to return.”
