Striker Declan Howe signed for Darlington from Cleethorpes on loan until the end of the season in March 2023.

Declan, who is 24, scored 16 times for Cleethorpes in the NPL East in the 22/23 season, including a hat-trick against Lincoln United. He started his career at Scunthorpe and then went to Doncaster before a spell coaching in USA. On his return, he played for Staveley in season 2021-22 in the Northern Counties East League, where he had a scoring ratio of a goal every two games.

He made his debut in the 3-1 defeat at Farsley in March 2023
